How Brexit Affects Homes in the Clearwater Area

With Britain suddenly pulling out of the European Union, the shores of Florida are sure to start feeling the effects. You might not realize it, but there are a lot of ties between Florida and what has been the fifth largest economy throughout the entire world. The Brexit backlash was a severe jolt to say the least. Floridians are bracing for what lies ahead in the hopes that it doesn't destroy the economy. Here are some of the things that you can expect to occur with Brexit:

  1. Because the British pound dropped, it will make traveling to Florida far more expensive. While less British people will be able to come enjoy spending time in Florida, more Floridians will get to enjoy saving money on their trip abroad.

  2. Since the market has gotten stronger, any downturns in British investments throughout Florida won't be affected.

  3. Due to the cost of imports being cheaper, Florida might see a net positive on their trades. However, exporters are going to end up losing money due to the cost of the British pound.

  4. Since the US dollar is quite strong, it makes products more expensive for some of the other countries. This could cause them to look for other suppliers in the hopes that they can save money and still get the products they want. The value of an overseas sale is significantly reduced when it is converted to dollars. This means that Florida companies who deal with the European market for the majority of their sales are going to end up...

Why You Should Declutter Your Home Before You Show It.

You Want Your Home to Look Its Best

If someone is planning to tour your home, you need to make sure that it is as pleasing as possible, both because you want to maximize your chances of selling it and because you want to maximize your expected proceeds from the sale. To do so, you need to declutter your home as soon as possible, which will serve two purposes. First, a decluttered home is also an open and spacious home, which should be much more attractive to most housing consumers than its cramped and closed-in counterparts. Second, a decluttered home has no personal mementos that can make it difficult for potential home buyers to imagine themselves living in it. Summed up, you want to declutter your home because it contributes to your chances of getting the results that you desire from selling your home.

How Should You Declutter Your Home?

Fortunately, decluttering your home should be a relatively simple and straightforward matter so long as you are willing to put in the necessary time and effort. You can start by sorting out the items that you have not used in a year or more since chances are good that you will not be using them anymore, meaning that you will not miss them once they are gone. Generally speaking, you want to make sure to either sell them, donate them, or recycle them since just tossing them out into the trash is the most wasteful option, particularly if they are something that could still be useful to other people. Once you have finished clearing...

Good Time to Buy a Home in Clearwater?

The Clearwater Housing Market is Heating Up

This is good news for sellers but buyers need to consider their home buying options now to avoid being priced out of the market. For Clearwater home buyers it’s time to get off the fence and actively explore your options today.

January 2016 has seen a National Average of 5.4% increase in home values and Clearwater is ahead of the trend. Of course our beautiful weather helps but the low home inventory has produced a much larger demand for available homes. Rather than see this as a negative, home buyers should look at the advancing home values as an opportunity to get into the market at the “perfect time.”

“But if it’s a seller’s market then shouldn’t I wait to buy?”

Not necessarily, while there are conditions which makes it appealing for sellers to enter the market, buyers have good reasons to buy as well. It’s really more of a balanced market right now. The natural reaction of sellers to the rising home values is to list their homes for sale. As we get into the Spring Selling Season in Clearwater, we can expect to see inventories rise as well. This is a critical point if you are trying to save money.

Buyers have a real incentive to purchase a new property right now since interest rates have fallen since the beginning of 2016 and not likely to keep falling. As of April 8, 2016, interest rates are down 8 basis points over last week to a national average of 3.38%....
